Inspiration!

Part of the reason that I wanted to write a story about my family was to show the world that special needs kids are capable of so much more than many people believe them capable of. A story came out recently about a young boy who accomplished something great, and he happened to have Down Syndrome as well.

Oregon teen is first person with Down syndrome to reach Mount Everest base camp...

!!! A New Review !!!

5.0 out of 5 stars - Light and Happy Read - March 16, 2013 By Kimberly M

This review is from: Diary of a Freak (Kindle Edition)

Lauren is an easy character to relate to. We all go through our own "freak" period at some point in our lives, and for most of us it is in high school. I enjoyed how Lauren looked at the world and saw the positive. It was refreshing to read about a teen girl who was focused on more than the mall :) This book is not just for teens, as a mother of 4 I was able to see myself in Lauren. This book is a quick fun read!

Thank you so much Kim. You have also earned an entry into our March Competition. To see more reviews or share your own click HERE

???????????

My family curled up on our couch tonight and fell in love with a little boy... Timothy Green. We laughed and cried and smiled our way through a wonderful story. It is a unique story that reaches out to all ages, reminding me of the feel of Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium. There is a lesson to be learned, but not everybody learns the same lesson.

I feel this way about Diary of a Freak. There is a lesson to be learned.

I recently received two reviews from the ABNA contest and am eager to learn and improve from them. Although there was a lot of praise in the style and content, one of the comments was that the reader had no idea what the plot could be from the pitch. It was intriguing, but didn't share enough.

So, after watching this unique movie tonight, I wondered what its blurb could be. Here is what I found:

After receiving bad news from a fertility doctor, Cindy and Jim Green try to bury their dreams of having a child by writing out all the great traits their child would have and putting them in a box in the garden. During a freak storm in the middle of the night, they awake to find a boy named Timothy, with leaves growing from his ankles, standing in their kitchen calling them mom and dad. Cindy and Jim are thrown into the midst of parenthood and over the coming months, Timothy will teach them more than they could have imagined about being parents and raising a child, no matter how he comes into their lives.

I like it. It is simple and intriguing and seems to give just enough away. My question to all of you is, what would you share about Diary of a Freak to draw in a new set of readers?

!!! TEN !!!

5.0 out of 5 stars - Heartwarming, March 8, 2013
By christy -

I loved this book. I love that it is like reading the private thoughts of someone, since it is written as a diary. But I think the message resonates with all of us. I mean who didn't feel like a total freak in Middle School and High school? This book reminded me of my teen years and all the ups and downs, but in a fun, light hearted way.

Thank you Christy!!! Every review helps. To leave your own review click HERE

!!! Word of Mouth Explosion !!!

It has been three weeks since the publication of Diary of a Freak. Let's kick it up a notch and reach even more people. Tell everyone how much you love Diary of a Freak.

***Word-of-mouth marketing (WOMM) is an unpaid form of promotion—oral or written[1]—in which satisfied customers tell other people how much they like a business, product, service, or event (or book). Word-of-mouth is one of the most credible forms of advertising because people who don't stand to gain personally by promoting something put their reputations on the line every time they make a recommendation.

Simply put, word-of-mouth marketing happens when you have a good product or good service (or book), and your customers tell everyone they know about it. As the word spreads, your customer base grows. *** Wikipedia

So, the question is, how far can we spread Diary of a Freak? I can only do so much, but all of my friends can do so much more. If each one of you shared a link on facebook, and you only had 100 friends, Diary of a Freak would reach around 100,000 people by the end of this weekend. Will you take 10-15 min of your time and post my book trailers and/or links to Amazon and Nook with a personal review on Pinterest, Facebook, Two Peas, and anywhere else you can think of?

John Lennon

While trolling the net I came across this quote, and it made me think of Lauren...

I've always been a freak. So I've been a freak all my life and I have to live with that, you know. I'm one of those people.

Review Time!

5.0 out of 5 stars - Wonderful, - March 3, 2013
By Pen Name

I loved this book and had a hard time putting it down. Lauren, the main character, learned many lessons that most teenagers don't or can't grasp at such a young age. Good read that I highly recommend.

So much fun to see another review roll in! Thank you Pen Name!!! To leave your review of Diary of a Freak click HERE
